University Otolaryngology is seeking a 4th year extern to join our team. University Otolaryngology is a busy ENT practice comprised of 9 physicians, including the only otologist in the state. This allows students a unique opportunity to see and treat a wide variety of ear disorders. Additionally, students will be exposed to a variety of clinical experiences listed below supervised by an ASHA certified audiologist. Our goal is to provide students with an opportunity to strengthen clinical skills in a supportive environment following best practice to provide patients with expert care. Potential for a stipend available.
Clinical Experiences Offered
A comprehensive range of hands-on clinical opportunities.
Adult and pediatric (6 months+) diagnostic hearing evaluations inclusive of puretone data, tympanometry, acoustic reflexes, and DPOAE (distortion product otoacoustic emissions)
Hearing aid evaluation, dispensing, follow-up and troubleshooting for adult populations (we work with most hearing aid manufacturers)
Cochlear implant evaluation, activation, and programming for adult populations
Bone-anchored hearing solution evaluation, fitting and follow-up
Custom hearing protection and swim molds
Vestibular testing including rotary chair
