Dr. Burchard is double Board Certified in Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery and Otolaryngology/Head & Neck Surgery. He is an expert in performing advanced surgical techniques to address everything from nasal deformities, ear deformities, facial asymmetries to reconstructive surgery of the face & neck. When considering reconstructive or cosmetic treatments for the face and neck, Facial Plastic Surgeons/ENT’s are highly qualified. Unlike other plastic & reconstructive surgeons, Facial Plastic Surgeons/ENT’s are exclusively trained in head & neck anatomy, which makes them uniquely qualified to understand the complexities of facial structures. This allows them to deliver treatments that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing.

Facial Plastic Surgeons also have a range of nonsurgical options to offer patients, such as injectable fillers & Botox and laser treatments.  These options are used to improve the appearance of wrinkles, reduce excess skin, correct age-related facial changes, and enhance the aesthetic appearance of the face.

Facial Plastic Surgeons understand how the facial structure works together and can customize a treatment plan tailored specifically to each patient’s particular needs. With their expertise in head & neck anatomy and experience with facial aesthetics, Facial Plastic Surgeons are uniquely suited to help patients achieve their aesthetic & functional goals.

Botox

Botox is commonly used to improve the appearance of wrinkles around the eyes, between the eyebrows, in the forehead, and around the nose and mouth. Botox reduces the appearance of lines created by repeated facial movement (e.g., frowning, smiling, raising the eyebrows, etc.). While Botox is frequently associated with appearance, it can also be used to relieve pain from migraine headaches, cluster headaches, tension headaches, and other facial pain disorders.Facial Plastic Surgeons are well equipped to provide safe & effective Botox treatments that produce long-lasting results. The goal of Botox therapy is to reduce the appearance of facial wrinkles. It is administered using needles to inject the facial muscles below the surface of the skin. The aesthetic result typically lasts 3 months at which time repeat injection is required.

Juvederm

Juvederm is commonly used to improve contours and restore volume to many different areas of the face. It helps to minimize the appearance of changes commonly associated with an aging face. Common areas of injection include the cheeks, lips, and the area surrounding the mouth.Facial Plastic Surgeons are experts in restoring facial proportion and symmetry to create a natural appearing result. Juvederm is administered using needles to inject the tissue deep to the skin surface to produce results that can last anywhere from 6-12 months depending on the specific location in which the product is placed.

Blepharoplasty/Eyelid Surgery

A very common facial plastic surgical procedure is blepharoplasty, or eyelid surgery. Blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure that improves the cosmetic appearance of the upper and lower eyelids. The goal of the procedure is to remove excess skin and fat around the eyes to produce a more open, alert and youthful appearance. This procedure can also improve peripheral vision if excess skin has become so prominent that it droops over the eye itself limiting the visual field. Facial Plastic Surgeons are very well suited to performing this procedure with their expertise in facial anatomy and how to best correct these issues. The potential benefits of blepharoplasty can be significant, both physically and psychologically. Physically, patients may enjoy improved vision and enhanced facial aesthetics. Psychologically, patients may experience improved confidence and self esteem due to a more youthful appearance.
